In addition to the general admission requirements of the VCU Graduate School, the following requirements represent the minimum acceptable standards for admission:Agreement to participate in the Postdoctoral Dental Matching ProgramAgreement to participate in the American Dental Education Association Postdoctoral Application Support ServiceGraduation or anticipated graduation from dental schoolEligibility to obtain a Virginia temporary residents license from the Virginia Board of DentistryCompletion of National Boards Part I and and Part II by time of matriculation (current dental student applicants) or successful completion of the Integrated National Board.Minimum grade point average of 3.0 (4.0 scale) or the equivalent, or a ranking of the top 50 percent of the dental school class.Completion of TOEFL or IELTS (for students whose native language is not English and who don't have a degree from a U.S. or Canadian accredited institution)Application to the periodontics concentration is through the ADEA PASS program. The PASS application should include the following items:Current curriculum vitae or resumeOfficial copies of dental school transcriptsGPA/class ranking forwarded from the deans office of the dental school attendedThree letters of recommendation from individuals who can personally attest to the applicants personal and professional qualities, including at least one letter from an individual who can discuss periodontal skills
