What will I learn?

The MS in Education prepares candidates to advance their professions as teachers, counselors, curriculum developers, administrators and leaders in a range of educational settings. In CBU's MS in Education program, candidates develop expertise in their chosen concentration and leadership skills to be a person of influence and agent of change in the field of education and beyond. This program is designed for candidates seeking the Preliminary Education Specialist Credential in Mild/Moderate Disabilities. Admission requirements for the credential program are additional to those for the degree. Individuals may also pursue the master’s degree in special education without completing all of the credential requirements.

Entry requirements

For international students

  • Official transcript from an accredited college or university reflecting the completion of a baccalaureate degree.
  • Minimum 2.75 GPA on last 60/90 units. Additional opportunities may be available for a student to overcome an unsatisfactory GPA.
  • Written statement of purpose OR in-person/virtual program interview (student's choice). Written statement (500-word maximum) or interview will address:
    • What are your educational goals
    • How will this program help meet those goals
    • What makes you a good fit for CBU
  • Additional requirements may be requested
