As a student in the Transdisciplinary Early Childhood Education program at the University of Dayton, you'll have the benefit of learning from people in a variety of disciplines to better develop expertise that benefits young children. The transdisciplinary early childhood education (TCE) graduate program is a cohort program designed for individuals who seek to work with young children and their families. Entry requirements

For international students

An international student seeking admission to any graduate program must have completed a minimum of 16 years of education, including the equivalent of a four-year bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. Coursework taken at technical or non-university affiliated institutions may not be considered for academic credit. The education ministry in the applicant's home country must officially recognize each school as a degree-granting institution.

All students are encouraged to submit proof of English proficiency for Admission into the University of Dayton. Proof of English proficiency can be submitted in one of the following ways:

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A minimum score of 80 on the Internet-based (IB) test is required for full admission.
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS). A minimum band score of 6.5 is required for full admission.
  • International Test of English Proficiency (ITEP). A minimum overall score of 4.5 is required for full admission.
  • Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE). A minimum score of 60 is required for full admission.
  • Duolingo English Test (DET): A minimum score of 105 is required for full admission.
  • Some graduate programs may require a higher proficiency score for full admission.
