What will I learn?

The environmental sciences program cultivates students’ perspectives of environmental issues and provides them with refined knowledge of environmental issues at the local, regional and global level. The program will increase the student’s technical competence in addressing and analyzing these issues, their origins, ramifications and resolutions, and is designed to enhance and promote professional education and career opportunities in a wide area of interests. Environmental biology is a physical science at the intersection of environmental science, ecology, evolution, and global change. This graduate emphasis examines how organisms, species, and communities interact with natural and human-altered ecosystems. Through a combination of fieldwork, laboratory research, and electives, students gain the knowledge and skills to address complex environmental challenges and pursue leadership in sustainability, research, and education.
