What will I learn?

Missouri S&T’s M.S. degree in explosives technology is unique and offers specialized training in the use of explosives, propellants and pyrotechnics for students without undergraduate education in engineering or physical sciences.The degree allows such students to advance their careers. Students have exclusive research opportunities in world-class facilities, including the S&T Energetics Research Facility (ERF) and Experimental Mine.Mining and explosives engineering offers a Master's degree with a thesis option in explosives technology for on-campus, research-based students and a non-thesis option by coursework for distance and campus students. The program requires four core courses and relevant elective courses you can select in consultation with your advisor.

Entry requirements

For international students

Letters of recommendation (general requirements listed below, individual programs may vary) 0 for non-thesis masters programs 2 for thesis masters programs 3 for PhD and DE programs Transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Unofficial transcripts are accepted at the time of application. Upon arrival on campus, you must request that an official copy of your transcript(s) to be sent to us directly from your previous universitys registrar's office. Once we receive the official documents, we will verify them. If there are any discrepancies between the unofficial documents you submitted, Missouri S&T will withdraw your admission and you will not be allowed to apply to S&T in the future. A statement of purpose (personal statement) of 1,000 words or less on why you are interested in the program A resume or curriculum vitae.
