The Department of Geosciences offers Master of Science (M.S.) degrees in geology. Our department has 12 tenured and tenure-track faculty engaged in cutting-edge research in several areas including Biogeosciences, Energy Geosciences, Paleoclimate, Solid Earth and Planetary Sciences, Surface and Hydrological Processes, and Lithospheric Processes. Program Requirements
Requirements for the master's degree are 30 semester hours of graduate courses including 6 semester hours of thesis. A minimum of 12 semester hours (excluding thesis hours) must be 5000-level courses for the M.S.

Applicants have either a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or proof of equivalent training at a foreign institution of higher learning.
English language Requirements: International students should have TOEFL with minimum scores of 550 on the paper-based, 213 on the computer based, 80 on the Internet based; IELTS with minimum scores of 6.5.
