What will I learn?

Become a licensed marriage and family therapist in New York State at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology - a leader in psychology and counseling education for over 60 years. We are consistently rated among the top psychology schools in the nation and attract diverse students from across the globe. Here, faculty and administration are dedicated to providing quality private education and setting students up for success. Our graduate school has established an extensive network of field placement and internship options for our students. The MS in Marriage and Family Therapy is designed to meet the demand for therapists that are equipped to provide quality service to families and couples. Our 60 credit MS program is designed to provide students with the theoretical and clinical principles of therapy for couples and families at a master’s level. Graduates of our MFT program are eligible for licensure as LMFT in New York State. Students will also be required to complete 300 client contact hours of supervised fieldwork before graduating. These placements offer training and mentorship opportunities with licensed clinicians. As the need grows for professionals qualified to treat families and couples in diverse environments, Ferkauf is proud to serve the Bronx community by providing high quality mental health services for a historically underserved population.
