What will I learn?

Gain the knowledge and hands-on experience to become a registered dietitian nutritionist. In Pace’s Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics program, you’ll learn to help people eat well, prevent disease, and manage chronic conditions, through real-world experiences at farm-to-table restaurants, K–12 school programs, large-scale food operations, and more. You’ll develop expertise in medical nutrition therapy, integrative and complementary nutrition, and community-based health promotion. Real-world experience includes working in diverse settings such as hospitals, schools, and community programs.Upon completion, you’ll earn a verification statement to sit for the Commission on Dietetic Registration’s national exam to become a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN). As a Pace graduate, you’ll be equipped to advance public health, improve access to nutritious food, and lead change across healthcare and community settings.Our Coordinated MS in Nutrition and Dietetics program provides a comprehensive curriculum with a strong focus on culinary nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, and complementary and integrative nutrition. The coursework emphasizes using food as medicine to prevent and manage chronic conditions, while addressing critical issues related to food equity, access, and environmental sustainability within our foodsystem. By integrating these principles, the program prepares students to promote both individual health and the health of our planet, fostering a holistic approach to nutrition and wellness.This holistic program is ideal for students with undergraduate degrees in dietetics and other health-related fields, as well as career changers inspired to enter a dynamic field that blends their passion for health, nutrition, and helping others. With a focus on creating meaningful change, graduates are equipped to make a lasting impact in diverse professional settings.

Entry requirements

For international students

  • A typewritten essay that 1) discusses two professional goals, including how your experiences to date and how the program will help you to achieve them; 2) describes your plans to adjust your professional and/or personal obligations to have the time needed for the required coursework and supervised experiences; 3) identifies a major nutritional challenge in the United States or globally and the role of Registered Dietitian Nutritionists in helping to address this challenge.
  • A resume or outline describing at least the past five years of your employment history and any significant community, professional, or college extracurricular activities.
  • Applicants need 2 letters of recommendation. Letters should be from academic or professional references that can knowledgeably comment on your ability to successfully complete graduate study. Include recognitions and achievements (e.g. licenses, publications, and awards).
  • All Official Transcripts: Transcripts from every accredited college or university attended (not just the degree granting institution) must be sent either to DICAS, directly from the academic institution electronically or by mail, or forwarded by the applicant in sealed envelopes from the academic institution
