Lamar University's Master of Science in Nutrition with a concentration in dietetics prepares students with the competencies necessary to become an entry-level registered dietitian nutritionist. In Jan. 2024, the Commission on Dietetic Registration declared that you must have a master's degree or higher to be eligible to sit for the CDR exam to become an RDN. With this program requiring just two hours of coursework, you can complete this program in just two years.Upon graduation, you will be able to critically evaluate nutrition research and translate findings, integrate advanced knowledge of nutrition science into clinical settings, apply ethical principles and cultural competence in counseling, demonstrate leadership in interdisciplinary healthcare teams, communicate complex nutrition information to professional audiences, etc.
