What will I learn?

If you earned your bachelor’s degree in accounting and want to specialize in tax accounting in your career, you can achieve your goal by earning your master’s in taxation at UAlbany. The graduate program in taxation is designed to help current and future tax advisors, business consultants, and corporate executives understand the complex tax considerations that come into play in financial transactions. You can complete this 30-credit program as part of a cohort over two semesters of full-time study. In addition to preparing you for the Uniform CPA Exam, this master’s curriculum rounds out your knowledge of tax systems, regulations, and policies, and teaches you how to ethically and accurately calculate financial information, as well as conduct tax research and strategic transaction analyses.

Transcripts from all schools attendedAdmission to the program requires a NYSED-approved undergraduate degree in accounting from an accredited U.S. university, or its equivalent (including 24 accounting credits and 36 business-elective credits).Three Letters of RecommendationOne academic reference is required, however two academic references are preferredResumeStatement of GoalsThe statement is generally one to two pages discussing what you have to offer the program and what you wish to get out of the program. It should include a brief description of the applicant's field of interest, related background, desired area of study and research emphasis or career goals.GMAT (A waiver will be applied for students who have a GPA of 3.5 or higher)
