What will I learn?

STEM-classified degree: graduates are eligible for 3 years of Optional Practical Training (OPT) in the USA. This degree is taught by ASU’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The faculty include 15 National Academy of Sciences members, 3 Pulitzer Prize winners and 2 Noble Prize winners. Statistics involves identifying relevant details of data and how to best collect that data to make reliable conclusions. In the Bachelor of Science program in mathematics with a concentration in statistics, students gain a strong math background with a focus on statistics. Flexibility is built into the program, giving students the freedom to explore other mathematical areas of interest in addition to statistics. Using statistical methods, students discover how to generate insights that inform fact-based decision-making and research through statistical inference and controlled experimentation. They use next-generation techniques to study and explore strategies for dealing with uncertainty.
