What will I learn?

The Program in Bioinformatics was founded at BU in 1999 and is recognized among the top research and graduate training bioinformatics programs in the US. It conducts highly interdisciplinary research, teaching, and training at the nexus of the medical, biological, and computational sciences.Prospective students who have completed a bachelor’s degree may apply for direct admission to the Master of Science (MS) program. Students may enroll in the MS Program as full- or part-time, and the degree requires a total of 32 credits. In order to receive a master’s degree, students must demonstrate mastery of the core subject matter. Requirements include the satisfactory completion of the core coursework with no lower than a ''B'' in each course and an internship where students demonstrate a working knowledge of computational methods available to the modern bioinformatician. Upon completion of the internship, each student is required to submit a written and oral report on the internship experience.Prepare for cutting-edge industry positions in bioinformatics, data analysis, and computational biology, or for further study at the doctoral level. The program offers great flexibility - you can enroll full-time and earn your degree in as little as 12 months or opt for part-time studies.
