You will also be equipped to go on to medical school or advanced chemistry or biochemistry programs.The MS in Chemistry can be pursued full time or part time. Classes are held weekday evenings at Loyola's Lake Shore Campus, located on Chicago's North Side.The course-based chemistry master's is a 30-credit-hour program with 10 graduate-level chemistry courses. The thesis-based MS in Chemistry requires you to complete 18 credit hours of courses and 12 credit hours of research.Whether you are looking to pursue chemistry research jobs, industrial work, or other opportunities in fields of chemistry, you will have the preparation you need to succeed.Specific job options include: Research and Development Scientist, Product Development Chemist, Materials Chemist, Analytical Chemist Toxicologist,Chemistry Instructor,Environmental ChemistBecause Loyola is a member of the Jesuit network of 27 colleges and universities nationwide, our graduates can access career advising services, resume and interviewing assistance, career fairs and events, and employment listings in our Career Services center, as well as at career centers at other U.S. Jesuit colleges and universities.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants seeking admission must have graduated B.A. or B.S. in Chemistry degree.

English language requirements:

  • For the IELTS, a minimum score of 6.5 is required.
  • For the TOEFL, a minimum score of 79 on the iBT or a 550 on the written test is required.

Applications for the fall are initially evaluated on the first week of December though applications are considered until May 1st. Applications for the spring are initially evaluated on the third week of September though application are considered until November 1st.
