What will I learn?

STEM-classified degree: graduates are eligible for 3 years of Optional Practical Training (OPT) in the USA. This degree is taught by ASU’s College of Health Solutions, which bringins together researchers, faculty, students and community partners from many disciplines to turn scientific research into practical solutions. The Bachelor of Science program in nutritional science provides a comprehensive foundation in nutrition, biology, chemistry and anatomy --- core areas crucial for understanding the body's functions and developing strategies to maintain and improve health. In this program, which includes specialized courses in integrative and functional health, students learn how to design personalized health interventions across the life span. The curriculum equips students with the knowledge and skills to prevent and treat health conditions through nutrition, making it an ideal foundation for those who plan to pursue medical school, dental school, pharmacy school or other advanced health professions. Hands-on learning is emphasized through a research capstone in which students work closely with experienced nutrition faculty. This experience not only deepens their understanding but also enhances their applications to graduate programs. Students also develop essential skills in leadership, teamwork, communication and critical thinking, preparing them for diverse careers in health or further studies in nutrition and related fields.

Entry requirements

For international students

3.0 GPA or equivalent. Must have three years of high school coursework. (If you are currently in high school, ASU needs to see 9–11 grade coursework. If you have completed high school, ASU needs to see 10–12 grade coursework.) Must have and present a completed high school diploma or certificate.
