What will I learn?

This course of study prepares students to become well rounded, competent entry level Emergency Medical Technicians, able to provide lifesaving care in a wide variety of emergencies. EMT Basic is the minimum EMT level required to become a firefighter in the State of Texas. The Emergency Medical Services Degree program prepares competent entry-level Emergency Medical Technician Basic and Paramedic students in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills) and affective (behavior) learning domains. EMT training is a natural entry into the world of medicine. Students will become proficient in emergency pre-hospital care of the sick and injured in the field and hospital emergency department environment.The Emergency Medical Services degree program offers the only AAS Paramedic Degree and Paramedic Certificate Level I in the San Antonio metropolitan area. It also offers an EMT-Basic Occupational Skills Award certificate, all at competitive prices. Both certificates and degrees lead to entry level jobs
