Our biology students generally focus on research in the broad areas of ecology, evolution, systematics, molecular biology, and animal and plant physiology. Our program offers teaching training and grant writing courses. Other professional development opportunities include weekly reading groups, ecolunch meetings and a graduate student research symposium. The School of Biological Sciences graduate program offers outstanding training opportunities for students seeking M.S. or Ph.D. degrees in biology or plant biology. We also offer a non-thesis M.S. degree in biology. We currently have approximately 75 graduate students advised by faculty in the School. The training of graduate students is a major emphasis of faculty in the School of Biological Sciences.
