What will I learn?

The PhD program in Management Information Systems aims to develop scholars: individuals who produce compelling original research that is published in the best journals in the field and who share knowledge through the practice of teaching. We aspire to place our students at peer institutions throughout the US and the world.Four learning objectives guide our program. Through your study at WSU you will: Develop comprehensive knowledge of theory and methods used in chosen field and related disciplines, Learn how to execute quality research, including the ability to plan, organize, design, construct, and execute research to assess/test research questions and/or hypotheses, Develop ability to effectively communicate research in writing and oral presentations, Become effective teachers.MIS doctoral programs vary in their focus. Three broad pillars define the field: technical, economic and managerial. Our principal focus is the managerial pillar, with a strength in behavioral research methods.

A masters degree (M.S., M.A. in a related discipline, or preferably MBA), although outstanding applicants with bachelors degrees will be considered
