The graduate program in biological sciences is dedicated to fostering groundbreaking research. To obtain a Ph.D. degree, students are required to undertake a research project that significantly contributes to the advancement of their respective fields. The culmination of their academic journey involves completing a Ph.D. dissertation, delivering a seminar to the Department on their work, and successfully defending their dissertation before their Faculty Committee. With approximately 30 graduate students in the department, you will have the opportunity to forge strong connections, develop friendships, and foster collaborations.
