What will I learn?

Technology Management’s doctoral program is designed to produce exceptional scholars who study technology-related work, technological change, and innovation who will go on to research and teach at top universities across the country and around the world. The curriculum integrates organizational studies with technology and innovation studies in an interdisciplinary environment that transcends the distinctions between disciplines. We welcome applications from individuals with backgrounds in the social sciences, physical sciences, management, or engineering. If you come from a technology or scientific background, we will teach you about the importance of organizations and social systems. If you have a social science or management background, you will learn to understand the role of technology and innovation in shaping organizational action. For most students, the program will take 4 to 5 years to complete.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Students must have a paper-based TEOFL score of 550.

For international students

To be considered for admission, applicants must have received a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution. Applicants to the Ph.D. program need not necessarily hold a master’s degree, although that may be desirable in some instances. An undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or higher is recommended for admission into the program.

TOEFL scores: 550 Paper-Based Test (PBT), 80 Internet-Based Test (IBT) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Overall Band score of 7 or higher (if applicable).
