The Washington State University Materials Science and Engineering Program Ph.D. holds the following objectives as its primary aims: To train students to become effective researchers in the subject of materials science and engineering, to contribute to our understanding of material sicence and address technical challenges in materials engineering, To prepare students for careers as scientists and engineers in industry, government, and academia.The graduate program in the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering (MME) has a long history of excellence and offers specialization in a variety of areas. Graduate students have the option of pursuing their studies full time or part time.

Entry requirements

For international students

Prospective international students must have the equivalent of a U.S. bachelors degree from an approved institution. Usually this is a minimum of four years of study beyond grade 12.
A grade point average equivalent to a U.S. grade of “B” or better is required
