Physics is a very fundamental subject in all sciences. It is truly a ''Theory of Everything''. It encompasses the various theoretical and applied studies from the origin of the universe to the formation of tiny particles that make up everything around us, to different interactions that govern our physical world, etc. Physics is a very fundamental subject in all sciences. It is truly a ''Theory of Everything''. It encompasses the various theoretical and applied studies from the origin of the universe to the formation of tiny particles that make up everything around us, to different interactions that govern our physical world, etc. The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Physics at St. John's University is a rigorous but rewarding major that offers students standard courses in Physics, provides comprehensive theoretical as well as experimental training in classrooms and lab, and prepares students graduate school and various exciting career opportunities. The Physics program at St. John's University prepares students with in-depth scientific knowledge and strong analytical skills, and intellectual curiosity, to become a well-qualified physicist at undergraduate level. Students in this program are also very likely to further pursue advanced degrees in Physics or other related engineering or scientific disciplines in graduate schools, participate in research projects with faculty in the department, and are in general very academia-oriented in their future career choices. As a Physics major, students who like teaching may be eligible to pursue pathways to graduate programs in the School of Education.

Entry requirements

For international students

Complete and submit an online application; Include a statement of activity if you have a gap in your education of more than three months between your graduation date and date of application submission; An essay and recommendation letters are strongly encouraged, but not required, for all programs except for Pharmacy, which requires both; Official academic records and/or official certificates/results from the Ministry of Education or secondary school in original language with official English translation; Official examination results (if taken) from the examining board (i.e., International Baccalaureate, General Certificate of Education, Caribbean Examinations Council, West African Examinations Council). Students who are home-schooled outside of the US need to submit a NACES member course-by-course evaluation.
