Political Science and Law (M.A./J.D. Joint Degree)

The joint M.A./J.D. program offers students the opportunity to earn both Master of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees in about the same time as either degree would take alone. Admission to this program requires the separate approval of both the Law School and the Department of Political Science.Students must first be admitted to Wayne Law before applying for this joint degree program. Having entered the Law School, students may then apply for admission to the Master of Arts program in Political Science. Upon admission to the Law School, students must complete the required first-year law curriculum before taking any other courses. Subsequently, a combination of political science and law courses may be taken. Upon completion of the Department of Political Science requirements for the M.A. and the Law School requirements for the J.D., students are awarded both degrees.
