Russian fluency is in high demand in the public and private sectors, yet few U.S. universities offer a Russian degree. At UWM, majors and minors learn the language and culture to prepare for specific jobs or for personal growth. To encompass both language and culture, courses include economics, geography, history and political science. A demanding but fulfilling field of study, our program is small with personalized faculty attention. When conditions allow, study abroad to Russia or Russian areas is available. Many students aspire to careers in national security or translation while others intend to work locally with non-English speakers in health care, social work or community services.
