What will I learn?

Our 3-year track begins summer quarter and includes online coursework with weekly synchronous requirements on Monday and Tuesday nights and one mandatory annual on-campus training in September. Students will be taking 2-4 courses per quarter. Candidates are encouraged to work in schools or related settings while completing coursework and field experiences throughout the program.

Entry requirements

For international students

have a bachelors degree, in psychology, education, early childhood education, or related fields, with the applicants transcript showing evidence of courses in inferential statistics, and developmental psychology (evidence of research methods, learning, abnormal psychology, tests and measurement and biopsychology are highly recommended); have a GPA ≥3.0 in the last 90 quarter or 60 semester-graded credits; meet the requirements of the Graduate School; submit the program-specific application to SLATE; provide three references for recommendation within SLATE; for the 3-year track, have a minimum of 150 hours of professionally relevant experience working with children, youth, and/or individuals with disabilities; for the 2-year track, have at least three years of full-time experience teaching in schools or at least five years of relevant professional experience in a closely related field; if recommended for admission, students must complete all of the requirements for admission to Graduate Programs and the School of Psychology before registering for classes.
