What will I learn?

This program prepares special educators to teach individuals with mild to moderate disabilities from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Throughout the program, intentional connections are made between course content and field-based experiences. You will have an opportunity to participate in extensive school-based experiences across educational settings and in faculty-supervised labs in public school settings. Coursework includes:characteristics and needs of individuals with disabilitiesassessment for data-based decision makingprogram development and adapting curriculum and instructionevidence-based assessment and instruction methods in literacy and mathinstruction and behavior management strategies for teaching children and youth with behavioral disordersprovision of individually planned, systematically implemented, and carefully evaluated instruction for students with disabilities

For international students

Applicants must have an official transcript directly from all the high schools.

English Proficiency

TOEFL: minimum of 71.

IELTS: minimum of 6.0

Duolingo English Test (DET) - minimum score of 105

Pearson PTE - minimum score 54

iTEP Academic - minimum score of 3.7. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis once they become complete: Fall - April 1; Spring - October 1.
