Wilmington University's Criminal Justice certificate provides you with the necessary basics of law enforcement, ethics, and criminal behavior for a successful career. Over the course of this certificate, you will build skills that can give you greater opportunities in this evolving profession and prepare you to enter or advance in jobs within the criminal justice system, including law enforcement, corrections, and in the courts. The core courses for this program will familiarize you with the study of crime as well as providing you with the skills and background you’ll need to be successful in understanding criminal behavior.
You’ll gain expertise in the complex criminal justice system through relevant courses taught by expert instructors. Our instructors have the valuable field experience needed to cover the most current policies, trends, and best practices in criminal justice throughout the program. You’ll also have opportunities through the student Criminal Justice Association to experience site visits to a variety of criminal justice agencies and meet with practitioners in the field outside of the program.
