What will I learn?

Bolster your credentials and gain new perspectives on food practices and global food systems. The Food Studies certificate is an undergraduate academic program designed to help students acquire both broad and specific skills and training in the interdisciplinary field of Food Studies. Students can customize their certificate to best suit their individual career and intellectual goals.We invite students to look at food from new perspectives. By blending the perspectives of the humanities and the sciences, students learn about the historical and cultural underpinnings of contemporary food practices while developing creative research-based solutions to current problems within our global food systems.

Entry requirements

For international students

Beginning freshman from international high school:- Graduation from a high school recognized by the home country ministry of education, Official transcripts/diplomas (in native language and English) showing all courses and marks of final three years of secondary school Students with a cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 3.25 or higher are guaranteed admission to UNT. Students' GPAs will be standardized on a 4.0 GPA scale once transcripts are submitted. Beginning freshman from U.S. high school:- Minimum of three years and graduation from an accredited high school in the U.S., Official transcripts, showing rank in class through at least junior year, plus graduation date, U.S. graduates only. Send SAT or ACT scores
