What will I learn?

Focus your passion for play and discover how to design and develop games with an academic certificate to enhance your Computer Science degree. The certificate in game programming is designed to prepare undergraduate students in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering to launch careers as programmers in the video game industry. The Laboratory for Recreational Computing was established in 1993 at the University of North Texas Department of Computer Science and Engineering, making it one of the first programs of its kind in Texas. We offer classes in game programming leading to a Certificate in Game Programming alongside a B.S. in Computer Science, a B.S. in Computer Engineering, or a M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering.

Entry requirements

For international students

Beginning freshman from international high school:- Graduation from a high school recognized by the home country ministry of education, Official transcripts/diplomas (in native language and English) showing all courses and marks of final three years of secondary school Students with a cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 3.25 or higher are guaranteed admission to UNT. Students' GPAs will be standardized on a 4.0 GPA scale once transcripts are submitted. Beginning freshman from U.S. high school:- Minimum of three years and graduation from an accredited high school in the U.S., Official transcripts, showing rank in class through at least junior year, plus graduation date, U.S. graduates only. Send SAT or ACT scores
