The University of Göttingen is a premier international research university with a long tradition. The university was established in 1737 in the Age of Enlightenment, and is committed to the values of democracy, tolerance and justice as well as the social responsibility of science. Courses at the university are offered across 13 faculties and cover a diverse range of subjects in the natural sciences, humanities and social sciences as well as medicine.
