General experience

The university is okay and unique in it's way. Lot's of activities to do and the rest. The school has a beautiful view and has a lake as well, It's nice and beautiful, and in the fall the leaves are colourful and beautiful as well.  

Standard Canadian Education Experience

Although Thunder Bay is remote, it has all the necessary facilities. So does Lakehead University. I have to admit that it has reached the average level of Canadian universities, which is pretty good. For me, the Master's program is not hard to complete, and most professors are kind, while I heard that the undergraduate programs were more challenging. There are a lot of active societies and clubs on campus. Most of the Canadians are very kind. As for living expenses, living on campus is even more expensive than living off campus, which is beyond my expectations. Winter is like a huge fridge, and the worst is its length, which lasts almost half a year. Nothing is perfect. If I had another chance to choose, I would still choose Lakehead.

Lakehead University

I had a great experience doing my masters in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Lakehead University. The faculty and staff help students no matter what. Additionally, the city is a wonderful place to have outdoor adventures if you are interested in nature.

As a Master of Forest Management student at Lakehead University, I can confidently say that this institution offers an outstanding academic experience. Lakehead University: A Hidden Gem

Lakehead University provides an excellent blend of academics, campus life, and environment.  The small class sizes mean that professors know your name, and the support services, including as tutoring and career counseling, are excellent.  Thunder Bay's campus is bordered by forests and a lake, making it an idyllic place to study.  The engineering and nursing programs stand out, but there is potential for improvement in course selection.  Winters are long and chilly, but if you enjoy outdoor activities, it's perfect.  The student body is nice, and there is always something occurring.  Overall, a fantastic place for hands-on learning with a close-knit campus community!

Diverse and welcoming community

I have truly experienced what university life is after coming to Lakehead. Studying, joining clubs, working on campus has given me so many positive improvements and I have become more of a social person after joining the larger community of Lakehead. 

Supportive and Welcoming Experience for International Students

As an international student, my experience has been really positive. The staff is incredibly helpful, providing support and guidance not only for academics but also for accommodation and transportation. The professors are friendly and always willing to assist, making the learning environment welcoming and supportive.

A Rewarding and Supportive Experience at Waikato

As a Master’s student who graduated in 2024, I can honestly say that my time at the University of Waikato was a truly enriching experience. Looking back, I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have studied at such a welcoming and inspiring university. 
One of the things that stood out to me most was the incredible support from the faculty and staff. The professors in my program were highly knowledgeable and available to provide guidance . The campus is modern and well-designed, with everything you need close by. There were also plenty of study spaces where I could focus, collaborate with peers, or simply relax and recharge. The campus has such a friendly atmosphere, with students from diverse backgrounds coming together to learn and grow. It was easy to make connections, whether through group projects, social events, or student organizations. The support services offered by the university, like academic counseling and career advice, were also a huge help in ensuring that I had the resources I needed to succeed. I graduated feeling confident, prepared for my career, and with memories that will last a lifetime. If you’re considering studying here, I highly recommend it!
