Founded in 1972, the University of Limerick (UL) is a leading university located in the heart of Ireland, well regarded for its high standard of tuition and quality of research output. The university’s Limerick campus sits within a magnificently landscaped 130-hectare site, complete with riverside locations, parkland and open green spaces. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses, distributed across four academic faculties, the Faculty of Science and Engineering; Education and Health Science; Kemmy Business School; and Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

The University of Limerick understands that the decision to study a degree can be a significant financial investment, and is committed to supporting all of its students by offering a wide range of scholarships, available to both domestic and international students.
Scholarships and bursaries are offered on both merit-based and needs-based criteria. The majority are awarded to students who display academic excellence and a desire to succeed in their degree course, and are an opportunity for hard working students to subsidise the cost of study.
Scholarships are awarded at a range of values, from EUR 1,500 to EUR 4,000 annually, depending on the programme applied for, as well as the grades of the student applying. Non-EU students taking on postgraduate courses and international students are also eligible to apply for scholarships valued up to EUR 4,000.
