Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT) is an Institute of Technology/Polytechnic (ITP) and was established in 1974. Students who wish to apply to study online at EIT must do the following:
Step 1 – Students must complete the online international application form. The institute will assess a student’s application and let them know the outcome as soon as possible.
Step 2 – Once accepted, students will be sent an interim offer of place followed by further information about how to enrol, course selection and fees payable (which should not take longer than five days if the application is complete and there are no documents pending).

EIT provides students a research informed education by helping develop enquiring minds; providing exposure to the latest knowledge; and much more.

EIT has three campuses in Napier, Auckland and Gisborne. The main campus is in Napier, Hawke’s Bay. Each campus is unique and has its own features, catering to all types of students.
EIT Hawke’s Bay is one of New Zealand’s most attractive campuses with 27 hectares of gardens and distinctive regional architecture, giving the feeling of space and providing a beautiful environment. The Napier based campus offers the widest range of programmes and enrols domestic and international students. Tairāwhiti, the campus in Gisborne, provides options for international students in nursing, business, IT, horticulture and cookery. Both Napier and Gisborne offer a relaxed small city lifestyle with temperate weather, easy access to beaches, mountains, lakes and rivers, along with New Zealand’s oldest winery.
Auckland offers students a city experience as a graduate school enrolling only international students. The Auckland campus is located on Queen Street in a great central location with easy access to the big city life.
