Overview

The International Travel College of New Zealand (ITC) is a premium provider of training courses for the airline, aviation, hotel, travel and tourism industries. This is one of the largest industries in the world and it continues to grow both globally and in New Zealand. Currently 1 in 8 people are employed in a job related to this industry in New Zealand.

Founded in 1996, ITC is built on the values of quality programming, educational excellence and equipping students with work-ready skills whilst supporting them right through to employment.

As multiple winners of the New Zealand Tourism Award, including the prestigious Distinction Award, ITC is a leader in its field. Students can be assured of the very best education, as ITC also holds the international quality award ISO 9001:2008 from the International Standards Organisation.

ITC is registered and accredited with the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) as a Category 1 provider, the International Air Transport Association (IATA/UFTAA), CODECO and Ready to Check In. All ITC courses are approved by the Ministry of Education and recognised and approved for student visas with the New Zealand Immigration Service.

ITC makes sure that the students are ready to take their place in the tourism industry; confident, professionally trained and fully prepared. The ITC tutorial team are hand-picked for their extensive travel industry experience within New Zealand and overseas. They bring a real depth of skill and expertise to the classroom and their strong industry knowledge makes them a valuable resource for students.

On ITC level 4 certificate and level 5 diploma programs, students will have the opportunity to do work experience in the industry (arranged by ITC). These students can also work part-time throughout their studies (and full-time during scheduled holidays), which also gives them a great opportunity to gain paid work experience in New Zealand.

Both ITC diploma courses offer pathways to bachelors degree programs with a number of institutions in New Zealand, as well as credit transfer to overseas programs.

Students who complete the two-year diploma in International Tourism & Travel Management level 5 course (only) are eligible to apply for a one-year Post Study Work Visa which will allow them to work full-time in New Zealand for that year.

ITC has campuses in Central Auckland, South Auckland, Whangarei and Christchurch.
