This scholarship will cover tuition fees of up to AUD $50,000 per year, and AUD $12,000 per year for living expenses for the duration of the recipient's approved course.

Other eligibility requirements

You must:

  • be enrolled as an international student 
  • hold asylum seeker status in Australia including one of the following visas (or equivalent) at the time of application:
    • Bridging Visa A (subclass 010)
    • Bridging Visa E (subclass 050)
    • Temporary Protection Visa (Subclass 785)
    • Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (subclass 790)
    • Temporary Humanitarian Concern Visa (subclass 786) 
    • Temporary Humanitarian Stay Visa (Subclass 449)
  • be commencing in an undergraduate award course of up to 4 years in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

Benefits

This scholarship will cover tuition fees of up to AUD $50,000 per year, and AUD $12,000 per year for living expenses for the duration of the recipient's approved course.

Also included is standard single Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the recipient as well as Student Services Amenities Fee (SSAF) for the duration of the recipient's approved course.

Students are shortlisted based on their

  • Refugee/asylum status

Selection criteria

a. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of a personal statement describing the applicant’s personal circumstances.

b. The Scholarship will be awarded by the selection committee consisting of the:
I. Associate Dean of Undergraduate Coursework, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences or,
II. their nominated delegates.
