The Professor Kernot Research Scholarship in Physics was established with gifts from William Charles Kernot, Roderick Esdaile and Susan Angela Esdaile and is offered to students who achieved the higher overall weighted average mark in either the Master of Science (Physics) or Bachelor of Science (Honours) in the School of Physics.

Benefits

This scholarship provides a one-off payment of up to AUD $3,500.

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

Have completed the Master of Science (Physics) or Bachelor of Science (Honours) in the School of Physics at the University of Melbourne; and,

Be enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy - Science or Master of Philosophy - Science in the School of Physics at the University of Melbourne.

Students are shortlisted based on their

  • Academic excellence

Selection criteria

The scholarship is offered to the student(s) ranked highest based on their overall weighted average mark in either the Master of Science (Physics) or Bachelor of Science (Honours) in the School of Physics.

Important:

Applicants cannot concurrently hold the Professor Kernot Research Scholarship in Physics with the Dixson Scholarship in Experimental Physics or the John Tyndall Scholarship.
