This scholarship supports a commencing Doctor of Philosophy - Arts student in the field of Italian Studies, with a focus on pre-modern Italian Studies. Preference will be given to a student who can demonstrate, in their PhD application, that Italian is an asset, highlighting the potential of pre-modern Italian Studies to enhance academic studies and enrich life experiences.

Benefits

AUD $40,000 per year for the first 3.5 years of a full-time PhD candidature, and, with the approval of an extension, of up to 6 months paid at the Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarships (RTP) rate of that year.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

meet the entry requirements for the full-time Doctor of Philosophy - Arts (DR-PHILART) in the field of Italian Studies, with a focus in pre-modern Italian Studies;

be enrolling in a full-time Doctor of Philosophy - Arts in the field of Italian Studies for the following year; and,

have not already completed a research qualification at the equivalent level as the course for which a scholarship is sought.

The scholarship will be offered as part of the Faculty of Arts PhD candidature selection process based on the application, prior academic performance and whether the potential candidate has the skills, experience and aptitude required to carry out the proposed PhD.
