Indigenous Business Leadership Award

Other eligibility requirements

This award was established to provide awards to Aboriginal students wishing to pursue further education in business and/or commerce in any public post-secondary educational institution in Alberta.

Criteria

To be eligible for the award, students must:

Be enrolled in a Business certificate, diploma, or degree program at a public post-secondary educational institution in Alberta;

Self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations Status, First Nations Non-Status, Metis, or Inuit); and

Be in good academic standing.

FIRST PRIORITY
Is given to one or more self-employed Aboriginal students who are for the first time attending a public post-secondary educational institution in Alberta and enrolled in a program leading to a certificate, diploma, or degree in a Business or Commerce program.

SECOND PRIORITY
Is given to one or more mature Aboriginal students who are for the first time attending a public post-secondary educational institution in Alberta and enrolled in a program leading to a certificate, diploma, or degree in a Business or Commerce program.

THIRD PRIORITY
Is given to one or more Aboriginal students attending a public post-secondary educational institution in Alberta and enrolled in a program leading to a certificate, diploma, or degree in a Business or Commerce program.

Disbursement Criteria

For funds to be disbursed, successful applicants must be enrolled in a full-time course load and be in good academic standing.
