Criteria
To be eligible for the award, students must:
Be enrolled full-time in the Bachelor of Communication Studies – Journalism major;
Be in good academic standing; and
Describe their journalism initiatives and/or advocacy efforts over and above their course requirements through a written description of 250 words.
Preference will be given to students who have advocated or given a voice to those with less power and influence in society (e.g., low-income, 2SLGBTQ+, minority, and other marginalized groups).
If selected, the recipient agrees to share their contact information with the donor for the purpose of a coffee meet and greet.
Disbursement Criteria
For funds to be disbursed, successful applicants must be enrolled in a full-time course load and be in good academic standing.
