The purpose of this scholarship is to inspire and support a thesis student in astronomy at the University of Canterbury who has been or will be undertaking observational work at Mt John as part of his/her thesis work.
Tenure: One year (Masters); Up to three years (Doctoral)
Applicable Enrolment During Tenure: Must be enrolled at the University of Canterbury as a thesis student in astronomy, and have been, or will be, undertaking observational work at Mt John as part of the thesis work.

If, in any year, there is no candidate of sufficient merit no scholarship is awarded.
