Other eligibility requirements

The scholarship supports postgraduate students in Computer Science at the University of Canterbury. 

Applicable Enrolment During Tenure: Must be enrolled, full-time or part-time, at the University of Canterbury in one of the following:

Final year in Honours degree programme in Computer Science; or
Master’s degree programme in Computer Science; or
PhD degree programme in Computer Science

Tenure: One year
 

Selection basis

Students are shortlisted based on their

  • Academic excellence
  • Financial need/hardship

Selection criteria

In making the recommendations, the Head of Department (or nominee) primarily considers academic achievement. The following are also taken into account:

a. Breadth of background, either in subjects other than Computer Science that the applicant has taken at the University, or in work experience. b. The likely value of any research project, in progress or proposed, to the advancement of computing in New Zealand. Preference is given to those who are studying for an honours or master’s degree
