Scholarship value

2026 - Up to NZD $8,000, representing the full tuition fee for the eligible English Language programme, which is credited toward the student’s mainstream programme on successful progression.
2027 - Up to NZD $6,000, representing the full tuition fee for the eligible English Language programme, which is credited toward the student’s mainstream programme on successful progression.

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must meet all the following criteria:

• be an international student, meaning you are not a New Zealand citizen or resident
• be a new international student at Otago Polytechnic
• be enrolled full-time in an English Language programme and meet the academic and English entry requirement for the mainstream programme.

Scholarship terms and conditions

• Students must enrol in an eligible Otago Polytechnic English Language programme and pay the full English Language tuition fee upfront.
• The tuition fee is credited only after the student has successfully met the English entry requirements and received an unconditional Offer of Place for an eligible full time mainstream programme of at least one year.
• The credit can be applied only toward tuition fees for the approved mainstream programme and cannot be transferred, refunded, or exchanged for cash.
• The scholarship does not apply to programmes with higher English language requirements, including health and postgraduate programmes, unless otherwise approved.
• In the event of change in enrolment including withdrawal from study, the successful recipient is required to repay the full sum of the scholarship to Otago Polytechnic.
