The intention of the Scholarship is to support International Graduate entry students to undertake full-time study in the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences. 

Up to four Scholarships will be awarded annually for a period of up to five years and will be of the total value of up to NZ $70,000 each, paid as a contribution towards compulsory tuition fees.

International Students will be considered for the award of a University of Auckland MBChB Graduate Entry - International Student Scholarship at the time of application for admission to a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland under the Graduate entry category. Students who have commenced study in any other programme at the University of Auckland are not eligible for consideration for these scholarships. A grade point equivalent (GPE) of at least 5.00 in the most recent qualifying programme is required for Scholarship consideration.

The Scholarship is tenable by full-time full fee paying international students who have gained entry to the MBChB programme through the International Graduate entry category.

Selection criteria

The basis of selection will be academic merit as assessed by the grade point equivalent (GPE) in the most recent qualifying programme. The country of origin of the candidate may be considered by the selection committee to align with the University’s strategic aims.
