For September 2026 entry, the Department of Philosophy is offering the David Efird Masters Scholarship, which is in the form of a £5,000 reduction in fees.

The scholarship is aimed at all students pursuing research in the field of philosophy of religion, or research on contemporary issues or themes using a philosophy of religion perspective. 

Open to International (including EU) and UK (home) students.

Open to students in the Department of Philosophy.

To be considered for the scholarship, you must be holding an offer of a place on the MA in Philosophy or MA Philosophy by Research.

Students are shortlisted based on their

  • Academic excellence

Selection criteria

The awarding of the scholarship will be subject to candidates meeting any outstanding conditions of their offer of a place on the MA programme and registration on that programme.
