Up to six scholarships are available each academic year to support students undertaking the programme.

The scholarship application rounds align with the programme’s four start dates.

The scholarship application deadlines are:

For September 2026 entry: Wednesday 19 August 2026

For October 2026 entry: Wednesday 23rd September 2026

For January 2027 entry: Wednesday 16 December 2026

For March 2027 entry: Wednesday 17th February 2027

The scholarship provides financial support towards tuition fees for Global Digital Humanities (Online) applicants. Each award is worth up to £4,500 and is available only to applicants studying on the full MSc programme.

Apply for your online course at the University St Andrews in academic year 2026-2027: Masters. Your course duration should meet the eligibility criteria for this scholarship (see above). After submitting your course application, you must allow up to two working days to receive login details for the My Application portal.

Application requirements

    Selection is based partly on financial need. You will need to provide the following two statements:

    a statement of up to 250 words explaining your current household financial situation

    a course suitability statement of up to 250 words explaining the following:

    why you have applied for this course

    how the course relates to your personal or professional ambitions

    how your academic and professional background show you have the skills needed to work effectively at postgraduate level
