Activate Learning understands that caregiving can lead to increased expenses, such as higher travel costs, and may limit the ability to work part-time alongside receiving student finance.
You must be a Carer, defined as someone who provides care for a family member, partner, or friend with a physical or sensory disability, learning disability, medical condition, mental health issues, or addiction to drugs, alcohol, or gambling. These responsibilities are extra to the typical caring duties that a parent has for a dependent child.
You must be in receipt of a maintenance grant
You must be under 25 at the start of your course
You need to apply separately for this scholarship
To apply, use the online form and provide evidence from a professional person, who is aware of the family’s situation and your caring responsibility to adminHE@activatelearning.ac.uk. You can apply for both the HE Maintenance Bursary and the HE Care Leaver Bursary. Applying does not guarantee an award because funds are limited.
