Other eligibility requirements

The School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures at the University of Edinburgh is delighted to invite applications for a postgraduate scholarship to be awarded in 2026-2027.

This award if offered to new applicants who have applied for admission to a postgraduate taught Masters or Masters by Research degree programme of study in the relevant field of study at the University commencing in September 2026.

Applicants must have, or expect to obtain, the equivalent of a UK first class or 2:1 Honours degree at undergraduate level.

Applications will be considered from UK/Overseas applicants wishing to study full-time/part-time programmes. All applicants will need to have been domiciled in Scotland for a minimum of four years prior to starting their degree.

This award will be awarded to an eligible masters student on one of the following three programmes:-

MSc by Research in French
MSc by Research in Spanish (Hispanic Studies)
MSc in Translation Studies - specialising in French or Spanish

Selection criteria

Students on Postgraduate programmes must be aware that this funding is for one year only, therefore, students are advised to budget accordingly.
