Other eligibility requirements

Open to students from USA and Canada.

To be eligible for the North American Friends and Family Discount, you must

• have a conditional or unconditional offer to study at the University of York by Wednesday 30 June 2027
• be paying fees at the overseas fee rate (any fee assessments must be completed by Wednesday 30 June 2027) 
• have US or Canadian nationality or domicile
• intend to study a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught course
• have a documented marital, sibling, parent, child, or grandchild relationship with a York alum or be referred to the discount by a York alum using this form (form will become available in late October 2026)

You will not be eligible if

• you hold a 100% tuition fee scholarship or are fully sponsored

Students on the following pathways (either previously or currently) are not eligible for these scholarships

• Hull York Medical School
• International Pathway College
• Distance and online learning courses
• Part-time courses
• Kaplan International College London
• Partnership and exchange students (including visiting students)
