As part of a wider institution that has a history lasting over 60 years, LCI Barcelona is a school that offers a varied range of undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications taught to the highest standards.
Based in Barcelona, students have the chance to learn amongst one of Europe’s most famous and culturally rich cities, with amazing opportunities to learn and grow academically and personally through the school and the wider city.
With low student-to-teacher ratios and most graduates working immediately upon completion, students benefit from extensive expertise and support. They will receive all the help needed to learn the key skills in their chosen field, as well as get any additional guidance on general school life from the helpful support teams.
Facilities on campus are of a high standard too, including multipurpose spaces adaptable to very diverse uses and other more specialized ones such as the TecnoFab, the AulaLab, two FotoLabs, etc. There are also common spaces such as the Agora, the library or the cafeteria.
There are six main study areas that students can choose from, ranging from design to visual arts. Within each area are a number of qualifications aimed at different interests and abilities and taught in Spanish (some of them also in English).
LCI Barcelona was born in 2013 following the partnership between LCI Education and the Felicidad Duce Fashion School, which was founded in 1928. Therefore, 2023 will be a significant year for LCI Barcelona with the celebration of its 10th anniversary and the 95th anniversary of its fashion area.
2024 will be a turning point in LCI Barcelona's history with the inauguration of its new campus. These spectacular facilities located in the 22@ district, the heart of the most creative and innovative side of Barcelona, will be a great boost for the school and will reinforce its educational project at national and international level as the European flagship of the prestigious LCI Education network.
This sustainable building (BREEAM® certified) will be equipped with the latest technology and surrounded by a large green public space. All the facilities have been designed to make the most of natural light and avoid direct solar radiation.
LCI Barcelona will be 400 meters away from the Disseny Hub, a reference institution in the design and creativity sector, and next to more than 1,500 companies, institutions, universities, technology centres, SMEs, start-ups and other entities.

Students are accepted to LCI Barcelona from all over the world. The institution is open to receive applications from a range of applicants. Students can show evidence of their education received from their country’s equivalent system.
Students may also need to complete a test relevant to their course – this could be an individual project or a portfolio of work that they have already completed. All the students are required to undergo an interview, either in-person or online, with an advisor from the Admissions Department and, if necessary, also with the program director or the person responsible for the area in question.
Students must also demonstrate proof of their language skills. Courses are taught in Spanish (some of them in English), so relevant qualifications providing their capabilities with the language are required in certain cases.
LCI Barcelona comprises a group of professionals committed to consolidating a creation and experimentation center in continuous development, fostering the spirit of collaboration and sustainability in design and society.
Its faculty are working professionals who bring practical real-world experience to the role by sharing with the students everything that is happening in their respective areas. They work to ensure that students develop the skills and aptitudes that will enable them to reach their full creative potential.
The school’s training methodology is based on experience and professional practice. It offers a dynamic and constantly updated education platform, closely linked to social, cultural and economic context to integrate and transmit to the students the evolution of techniques and the needs of people, companies and institutions.
All LCI Barcelona professionals work hard to foster the creative and human potential of each student in the community, through a methodology that combines the academic rigor and the dynamism of the creative industries.
There are just 2.5 students to every member of teaching staff at the school, so class sizes can be kept smaller while each student is afforded more time by his/her tutor.
LCI Barcelona belongs to different clusters related to its creative multiverse and has partnerships with more than 250 design and visual arts companies and institutions, as well as innovation and technology centres.
