I fell in love with JCU!

Australia has been my dream destination since I was just a boy. JCU is famous for its marine and tropical science department and ranks above high class international universities in the field of ecology and sustainability. From the moment I first researched JCU and North Queensland I fell in love with the thought of studying my undergraduate degree there.

I chose Veterinary Science because of the tropical location!

I elected to study a Master of Veterinary Science at JCU because the tropical location means there are similar challenges here, to what we experience in my home country of Ethiopia.

My field of study is molecular epidemiology and pathology, with a focus on tropical veterinary sciences. I would like to work in this field when I return home, or pursue employment in other locations as opportunities arise.

I have improved my skills and knowledge at JCU

Studying pharmacy at JCU has allowed me receive a quality of education that consistently improves upon my skills and knowledge. The small class sizes of the pharmacy program really facilitate the learning experience. They allow for more one-on-one time with each of my lecturers as well as maintaining a close knit relationship with my cohort of students.
The opportunities I've had here have helped me learn more about the world and myself and student leadership positions have made me a stronger person, more confident in my abilities

JCU broadens my knowledge

I chose to study at JCU because it will help me to become a well-equipped journalist, and will broaden my knowledge field. I really appreciate studying here because it gives you the opportunity to get to know students from a lot of different countries.

The location is also great; if you have a day off, or a weekend off, there is always something to do. You also get the support you need as a student in a foreign country.

Quality of education is above expectations at JCU

The quality of the education I received was as I expected it to be from a top university like James Cook University.
I chose JCU as I was very intrigued by the location of the university. Additionally the courses sounded very interesting. The best thing about the material taught here is that it will complement my degree in mechanical engineering. Having studied abroad at JCU will help me in my future career.

JCU helped me to enjoy the Australian way of life!

As an Exchange student within the Bachelor of Business I can study a wide range of subjects that interest me and will help when I choose to do a Masters program.
At JCU I have met people from very different cultural backgrounds and I have enjoyed the Australian way of life, the wide diversity of the landscapes in northern Queensland, the people, and the university system.

JCU is the perfect location to study!

I chose to study at JCU because it is the perfect location to study biology, as it’s close to the Great Barrier Reef and tropical rainforests.

The University offers students the opportunity to go on field trips to expand their knowledge of different environments. JCU also supports students by arranging many events and services, which made me feel at home.

JCU offered me the best multi-cultural experience!

The reason I chose to study at JCU is because I could get a multi-cultural experience by meeting new people from different cultural backgrounds. It’s also a good experience to be around other students who are enthusiastic to learn.

JCU has helped me a lot by offering many kinds of workshops. The international student support team has also been really supportive by talking to me about my future and what I can do with my experience I have gained here.
