Phd at Queen Mary University of London
I am currently enrolled in a PhD programme in Law at Queen Mary University of London. I started in September 2013 and normally a full time PhD lasts three years. When I decided to apply for the programme I mainly chose Queen Mary because my professor is a leading expert on EU Criminal Law which is the topic of my PhD. However, during the first couple of months I also valued more and more the university as such. First of all there are a lot of seminar to attend and interesting lectures on both organizational as well as subject-matter issues. Second, there is a special course for PhD students which teaches valuable research skills and helps students of different fields of law to socialise. On top of that there are a lot of social activities for postgraduate research students from all different fields beyond law. All in all this creates a nice atmosphere in which I can improve my research skills, learn more about my topic and get in touch with a lot of other students.

Great Experience at Queen Mary
I had great academic experiences at Queen Mary. I took 3 literature classes and 1 political science class. QM had an exchange with my university, so I didn't have to pay extra tuition or program fees. All of my classes were very demanding but also very rewarding. I got a lot of individual attention from all of my professors and the teaching assistants who led our smaller groups. My favorite class was Contemporary Writing, which examined books written in the previous two years. I lived in the Queen Mary dorms and attending several of the campus events. I lived with other international students and first year QM students and liked the area, Mile End.

At QMUL you gain valuable and unique academic and in a town like London an extraordinary life experience.
I enjoyed university life at 360 degrees, by joining not only all extra lectures with very good guest lectures but also extra activities in social and cultural fields. I became president of the postgraduate law society and organised plenty of social and cultural events that helped me to familiarise with all my fellows. It has been a great experience, considering that the students come from all over the world. Under the academic point of view, I recommend doing the readings regularly, drafting mock exam answer and sending them for review to the professors, participating in class and trying to publish something.

1st time in the UK
I am a LLM student at Queen Mary University of London. QM has a good reputation for its academic excellence and also attracts more than 7000 international students. In other words, it is a place where can stimulate students absorbing the knowledge and providing the sufficient supports, particularly helping international students to overcome the difficulties in their daily life. I am an international student and this is my first time living in the foreign country. Fortunately, I am used to this lifestyle quickly. I have three modules so I have to spend six hours in the lectures every week. It also means that I can freely exploit the rest of time. For example, I could go to the tourist attractions, museums, theatres and so on. Namely, there are so many things I could do in this wonderful city. The most important suggestion is to build a good friendship between different countries. The reason is you can know different cultures and thoughts from different backgrounds deeply. Moreover, you may be their guest when you travel their countries and they will treat you well. As a result, it is vital that enjoying this lifestyle, studying hard and exploring any possibilities in this city.

Some words about the life in London
The studying experience is very rich . Choose to live in campus is a very good choice, London is a very amazing place you can have many options to decide your life way. But it's a turly capitalism city , our graduation students are less likely fine a job here due to many reasons.

Deeply consider choosing foreign university
I am really enjoying studying in this university. The most important thing to choose a foreign university is whether university has good structure to support student study life, such as funding, housing and language support. QMUL has a very good support system.

Overview
I'm enjoying my university much. It has various modules of LL.M. and staffs are kind. Location is very convenient. If someone wants to study about law in UK, I recommend my university, but I think it's important to check what modules are interested in.
